High School Taste (for groups)

The high school program is an opportunity to immerse yourself into French language and culture. This program is for small school groups : share daily life in a French host family and attend a local high school. Depending on the group size and school availability, students may be split up into 2 groups (2 different schools). A weekly excursion or activity will also be arranged on Saturdays.

The French educational system is one of the most thorough in the world. Participants will attend classes at a local lycée from Monday to Friday. Saturday classes may be allocated. French students attend mandatory lessons (French, History-Geography, foreign languages, sport...) and also take optional subjects such as arts, maths, biology...

Participants will live with a French family. They will share the family’s everyday life, participate in activities and adapt to the family rules as a family member. In France, high school students buy lunch at the school cafeteria, cost related to lunch should be covered by the students pocket money.

Normandy is situated between the Channel and the Paris basin and has been the welcoming harbour of civilizations through the Seine Valley to Paris. It is best known for its coasts, green meadows and cider. The region’s name originates from the Viking Norsemen back in the 9th century and it is officially divided in two parts, “Haute et Basse Normandie” (High and Low).

Hauts-de-France region is at the northern tip of France, near France’s border with Belgium. It features an array of architectural styles with various amounts of Flemish influence. Lille Cathedral and Lille Palace of Fine Arts are outstanding attractions. Lille is an important crossroads in the European high-speed rail network (1:20 hour to London, 1 hour to Paris, 38 minutes to Brussels).

Provence is a geographical region and historical province of southeastern France which extends from the left bank of the lower Rhône River to the west to the Italian border to the east, and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south. A sunny and picturesque French area !
