How does the Classic program work?
The Classic school program allows the students to study in a local high school and live an experience abroad, but they cannot choose the destination within Australia. Placements can be in any region of the country (except in Western Australia and Northern Territory). Although a placement in an urban area is possible, many families live in small or medium-sized towns, near the city or not, close to the beach or in the countryside... Students need to be flexible with their placements as they cannot choose any region or school, nor specific activity, sport school subject.
For what type of student is this program a good fit?
- Open-minded students ready to experience a high school program anywhere in Australia
- Students who wish to have a real Aussie family immersion in a non-paid host family
- Students willing to discover lesser-known places in Australia, away from mass tourism
Australian host families are unpaid volunteers. Students become part of their “Aussie” family by integrating into their daily life and participating in activities. Host families can live anywhere in Australia and welcome students into their life as their own child.
