How does the Classic program work?
The Classic school program allows students to study in a local high school and have an authentic experience abroad, they can be placed anywhere in Italy. Placements can be in any region of the country (from the north to the south or on the islands; along the coast, inland or in the mountains). Although a placement in an urban area is possible, most families live in small or medium-sized towns. Students on the program in Italy are not allowed to go home nor receive visits from their relatives/friends during the program.
For what type of student is this program a good fit?
- Open-minded students ready to experience a high school program anywhere in Italy
- Students with a lower budget
- Students who want to have an authentic exchange program.
Participants live with an Italian family. Like family members they share the family’s everyday life, participate in activities and adapt to the family rules as if it were their own.
Host families are volunteers, and they may or may not have children, live in a city, a town or in the countryside, in a house or in an apartment. Students need to be flexible.
